Christmas photo's

I know that I have blogged about picture taking before yet no matter how many times it smacks me in the face I just keep going back for more. Aaron has started to give me a bad time about how emotional I become about family picture taking. I am not sure why I do I just want so badly to have us all look good that when it doesn't go right I get all worked up about it. Anyhow, here is a prime example of why family pictures are difficult yet they turn out ok.

Thanksgiving!

Ok I know I am going to back track quite a bit here.. but I guess as they say better late than never. These past few months have flown right by me. Mostly I guess because having two active children and a baby keeps me really busy. Thanksgiving we kept on the down low this year. A few days after turkey day we had my brother Colin's mission farwell party and farwell talk. My Grandma came up for it and we all had a good time. I even got her to let me color her hair :)

Christmas time..

Ok I know so I totally skipped thanksgiving posts.. not to worry at some point I will post some pics.. In the mean time I will tell you that Thanksgiving we just kept it simple this year. It was me the hubby and kiddos, Aaron's nephew Micheal and Aaron's mom. It was a good relaxing day with yummy food. Aaron and I cooked together and I have to say we make a pretty good team. Turkey dinner sure was yummy. Although we both agreed that last years turkey was much more moist yet we made it the same way we did that yr before..??? we are still not sure how that happened yet it did. Oh well there is always next year to perfect right? Anyhow.. turkey day went by in a blur and now we are down to two weeks before Christmas. I love Christmas time! Things are so busy right now and I will be posting more soon and catching up on everything in between!

The Harvest

This year has been one big roller coaster of a ride for our family. Amist all the begining of the year bed rest and having to be oh so very careful Aaron was able to build me some garden boxes and I was able to sit in a chair and plant things. It was our first garden. I would say that even though about half of what I planted didn't come up what did come up did wonderful. I wish I had taken more pics of it. Soo here is what we did get, cucumber's, tomatoes, butternut squash, pumpkins, dill, bell peppers, onions, carrots, lettuce, radishes. I would say over all it was a very good year! Next year I am sure we will do better. We did plant a pear tree this year and hopefully in a few years we will be able to enjoy the fruits of that.

Colorado 2010

The kids at the cemetery. They were very well behaved! And it was the first time that our kids met Karis. ( hope I spelled that right)
Cait and Karis instantly became best friends! It was super cute!

Me!

Noah and I! Sure do love this sweet little boy!

The Fam at the burial!

One night Paul let his kids spend the night with mine. I know you are all thinking that I am crazy, it was Aaron and I and 5 kiddos sutff into one small bed room at Lana's. But here is the amazing part I got them all ready for bed and set up there bed stuff and then I sat in the rocker feeding the baby and singing to them and they all went right to sleep. They all slept all night long without any problems. They got up the next morning happy as could be. It was fun and the kids sure did love it!

Aaron and I!

Noah!

Ammon looking tuff!

A year ago Aaron's dad passed away. We decided that he needed a headstone and place to be buried. So thanks to my parent's ( who own a headstone co) for getting us the headstone, we were able to take it with us and now Aaron and his sibling have a place to go visit their dad. While we were there we went to the park and bbq'd and had some fun with birthday's and such. Over all it was a pretty good trip. Here are some pics...

Veronica Two months old...

Ok so I know I have fallen behind. I have become what is referred to as a "soccer mom" being a stay at home mom now that my kids are getting older is soooo much busier than I was anticipating. Between taking Ammon to school and picking him up at the bus stop, taking him to karate and gymnastics, then there is Cait who has play group and dance, and to top it off I have Veronica who is rapidly becoming oh so fun and sweet. My life right now is super full. Oh did I mention that I joined the PTA. Well I did.

Veronica is now two months old and she smiles and will talk to you with her sweet little cooo's. She is a super good baby for the most part. She eats and sleeps really well, there are a few nights here and there that she can definetly give me a run for my money. But for the most part I have nothing to complain over. She is a very strong baby and even her cry is super sweet. I love this little girl soo much. Ammon and Cait love her so much and they try very hard to be careful around her.. unless she is sleeping then they think it is funny to wake her up.. not so funny to me. Cait will even try singing to her little sis if she is fussy and I would she probably about half of the time Roni will stop and listen and or go to sleep. It is really sweet to watch. Anyhow enjoy the pics!

Family Picture Time Take 2!

Ok so Monday night for FHE I bagged the two outfit idea and putting on our matching stuff. Got everyone ready and loaded up. This time with the tripod and the right sd card. I have to say that I love my hubby so very much for me being able to tell him what kind of shots I wanted and him being able to make that happen. Also he stayed up so late with me last night helping me edit these few pics the way I wanted. They really turned out so NICE! My kids are growing so fast I almost feel like crying. ( Although I am sure that is more post pardum hormones talking than anything) So hope you like these!

Family Picture time take 1.

So on Sunday I decided that it was time for some fmaily pictures. It has been awhile since we have taken any and I thought well what the heck might as well. Well let me just say that taking your own family pictures is much harder than I anticipated. We went down to Mona to visit my mother in law and we know a few spots up there to take some good pics, so we loaded up and off we went. We got there and just relaxed for awhile and then came dinner and then I changed the kids into their "picture clothes" which I thought I would bring two sets per child and take individual pics and then together pictures in their more "matching attire" By this point it was 7 pm. I was rushing to beat the light.. well let me back up and tell you a little story about when we left. I had everything all set out to bring.. as we are leaving Aaron had put some sinus medicine in the van and come back in to get more things to bring, well Ammon decided he wanted to try that medicine, so he put it in his mouth and tried it... when I found this out I began to fret that he was going to die or that we needed to take a trip to the ER. I forgot that tripod was still sitting in on the counter and that the sd card for the camera was still sitting on the office desk due to the fact I had just down loaded everything from it. Now Ammon told us that he thought it was candy or something and that upon putting it in his mouth it was gross and he promptly spit it back out. So we thought we would watch him close and give him plenty of water to get it out of his system and we left to head to my mother in laws house. So back to " rushing to beat the light" Upon getting up the mountain I realize that I have left these two very vital belongings at home which is more than an hour away. Caitlynn on the way there is falling asleep( and we all know how that will go if she gets all the way to sleep and then we try to wake her up.) By this point I was rather upset and Aaron was like lets just try to take a few and then we can do more tomorrow for FHE. Well upon arriving up the mountain both children pronouce that they have to go PoTty. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! This was the breaking point, and I thought WHY? So after potty breaks a few pictures the light was gone and well my dear mother in law did try to take a couple family pics for us, but well we were done by that point and the only one of the family that came out decent half my head is cut off. The other ones turned out blurry and the light was pretty much gone. I was fairly upset about the whole ordeal since I had envisioned beautiful pictures of my SWEET children and of all of us together. So... these few pictures did turn out pretty good, and I can now look at this and laugh a little.

Kindergarten Mom!

So we are two weeks into school. So far I would give the overall experience a probably a 7. Let me explain why.. although since I am new to this whole school I might be a little off. Let me start by saying I really like Ammon's teacher she is really nice and Ammon seems to like her which I think is great. The first few days of school I took Ammon and picked him up everyday. Not sooo bad right.. well there is major construction on the main road to get there and the school is a good 15 mins away. Not so great! Although next year the new school will be built and it will nice and close by. So many of my neighbors and friends all started by putting their kids on the bus and following it to school the first few days to make sure their children got there, which seemed silly to me I might as well be driving him if I am going to follow the bus. By friday though Ammon was requesting to ride the bus. Soo I went in to the front office and figured out the very confusing bus schedual ( I never rode the bus as a child.. not till I got to High school. ) I then praciticed with Ammon over and over again which bus to get on and where to get off. The first day... well he didn't get off the bus, he did however get on the right bus. So I had to radio the bus driver to have them bring him back. The second day he got on the right but and I made sure he got off in the right spot. The third day I was a little late getting out the door ( due to nursing) and yes alas he told me after the fact he did not get off the bus because he did not see me. So again I had to radio the bus and have them bring him back. His bus drive is really nice though. So points for that. Since then we have had no more incidents on with the bus. Now I am still taking him to school in the mornings, I am not sure that I am ready to get him on there in the mornings and not know if he made it to school and his class room, so I take him and drop off. Although the principal gets annoyed when we watch our kids walk to their class room doors and yells out that its not a parking lot, its a drop of spot.. SOOOOO LAME I FEEL LIKE A TEENAGER IN TROUBLE OR SOMETHING. I just roll my eyes... It is my freaking right to make sure my kid gets to where he needs to be and stingy principal is going to tell me otherwise. Now, I am also picking beef with what was printed in the newsletter that was sent home... it talks about appropriate forms of play during recess... tag is apparently not an appropriate form of play due to the fact that kids dont watch where they are running and get hurt. But appropriate forms of play include, wall ball, soccer, flag football.. ect... now how in the world can they play all those things and not get just as hurt?? if not more hurt? Can someone please tell me??? Or am I just being lame?? The other major thing that had me going was that printed in the newsletter was a note to parents picking up their children from school... it stated that in order to avoid to much congestion to pick up our children 7 mins after the bell has rung. I think this is really lame.. In my mind no decent parent would go pick their child up that late on purpose especially the younger they are. On wed though after Aaron had come home from work he asked Ammon how is day at school was and Ammon proceeded to tell him that a kid at recess had choked him and the teacher had to pull the other kid off.. ( WHAT THE HECK) why was I not called or something??? It also stung just a little that I had asked Ammon when he got home how is day was and he told me fine and showed me all of his cool work he did, but had said nothing about the recess incident. So overall it hasn't been terrible but I know that am already feeling a little anxiety over this whole school thing. But for the most part it is not so bad and Ammon loves going to school so far.. ( except for the day after the choking incident) . Hopefully it will get a little easier and a little better.

Veronica's Blessing!

Sept 5.. Today we blessed my sweet little Roni. I love that little girl so much. She is a real joy to our family. Today was just another miracle to our family. I can't believe how lucky I am to have such a sweet little girl. I didn't think I would get so emotional today, but alas I must admit that I did. Knowing that her blessing came straight from our Heavenly Father, I feel as though he was speaking straight to my heart. I love the gospel so very much the peace that it brings to my life is such a blessing. Today was a wonderful day. Thanks so much to those who were able to make it. Small funny note, last night while getting clothes out and things ready for church I had an inkling that I should bear my testimony, I kind of put it off and thought nah.. but again a few minutes later I felt that same small inkling. As I knealt in prayer last night I told heavenly father that I would bear my testimony if there was enough time or a lull so to speak in the meeting. ( Thinking to myself that I would be able to get out of it if I was holding baby, or needed to feed her or something) haha the Lord knows better... The very begining of the meeting was very slow to get people up there ( very unusual for my ward) as I was sitting there I was thinking oh no... but whew I was holding the baby that had been fussy a few short minutes before... then Aaron leaned over and said I think you need to go bear your testimony, I gave him "the wife look of no way" but then my dad leaned over and said here I will hold the baby and you can go bear your testimony.. great no way out... well long story short I did end up bearing my testimony. I was glad that I did. It just goes to show that when you make a deal with the Lord he will provide a way. This day has been a wonderful day. I love my small children so very much. I am so glad to have Aaron as my eternal companion. My heart is full yet very content :)
Side note the other baby is my nephew Eli who is 3 and a half months old.. we wanted to see the size comparison.. hehe.. almost three weeks versus 3 and a half months!
