Special Note-- This could be a little lengthy... I did include a pic of my blood clot as well.. so maybe a little graphic too. But I thought it was interesting when the Dr delivered my placenta and then was able to show us the blood clot.
On Wed. the 18th of Aug 2010 at 8:04 pm Veronica was born. We are calling her Roni for short. Super cute!
We got to the hospital a little before 10:00 am, got everything all hooked up. The dr came over @ 11:30 and checked my progress and broke my water. We thought for sure with how fast Caitlynn came ( 4 hrs) that Veronica would take no time at all. Boy were we wrong. By 12:30 I was ready for my epidural. The first time they put it in it wasn't right.. had to have a do over on that. Not FUN! Either way what followed was even less fun.. After that I got super sick and proceeded to throw up over and over and over again.. even after delivery. When I got my epidural I was at a 4. At 6:30 pm I was still only at a 4. The nurse came in and told me that there was a possibility that if things didn't start moving I would need a c- section. I began to panick... the dr came over about 6:45 and told me that we just needed to be patient and give it a little more time and to not worry. At 7:30 Aaron finally decided he needed to go get some dinner. The nurse came in to check me right after he left. I was thinking and hoping to at least be at a 7. Much to my surprise she said I was ready to have a baby! Yikes! I had to call Aaron real fast and get him to come back. Dr got there just a few minutes before 8 pm I push a total of 5 times and Veronica was born! Whew! It was my longest labor and delivery yet.
As is turns out Veronica was not as small as they were thinking she would be.. she turned out to be a healthy 6 lbs 12 oz 18 inches long baby! Not quite as big as Ammon but not as small as Caitlynn. So far she is kind of a combo of both kids.. She looks soooo much like Caitlynn when she was a baby. She isn't as fussy as Caitlynn but not quite as content to just hang out as Ammon was.. its a pretty good middle ground. She eats amazingly well and sleeps for about 4 and half hours at night.. not so bad right!? I really have been enjoying this sweet little girl. I thought that having a third would be really hard and I would want to pull my hair out everyday.. so far its not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Ammon will be starting kindergarten tomorrow and so I am thinking that this can only get better... or at least I hope so. The kids love their little sister until she crys then they plug their ears and leave the room. Its kind of funny.
I know this is going really long, but after the what seemed the longest nine months ever.. I am just glad that Veronica is here and healthy and safe. :)
